Frequently Asked Questions

The following are frequently asked questions about the GAPS Diet Class…

What is the GAPS Class?

The GAPS Protocol

The GAPS Protocol

The GAPS Class is a 10 week online course that provides both instruction in the GAPS Nutritional Program, and guidance for the practical application of this healing protocol in your everyday life.

You will receive weekly content that will guide you through the process.

Lifetime access to the course materials is included in the cost.

Who am I?

This course is taught by Nutritional Therapist and GAPS Practitioner, Melanie Christner.

I am wife to a great guy, and mother to four strapping youngsters. Our own family has been through the complete GAPS protocol, including the Introduction diet. The GAPS program helped give our family robust, strong health and I will always be grateful to Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride for developing such a comprehensive health tool for nurturing healthy kids, and healing the broken.

My family and I live in the Green Mountains of Vermont, USA. Clients come to me for GAPS counseling and nutritional needs both locally, and virtually. I blog at about GAPS food, health, and how to apply a healing diet to everyday life.

I hope to see you in the course!

How does the program work?

Module 1, Intro to the GAPS Concept, will be immediately available to you upon registering. A few days prior to the class start on January 26, you will also receive an Introductory email that explains how to navigate the website, the Facebook Forum, and other goodies of the course.

You will then receive new content every week on Mondays.

The Facebook group will be available starting Friday, January 23, 2015, and you can request to join or be sent an invite to join.

What do I need to be able to participate?

A computer and internet access – You’ll need a desktop or laptop computer to be able to access and download course materials.

A Facebook account – While not ESSENTIAL, we do have a confidential support group set up, where you can ask questions and give feedback on your progress, in a positive environment with your fellow course participants. This has been a very valuable piece for past participants.

A Pinterest account – Also not essential, but this is a nice perk of the course. Directions will be given for signing up, if you don’t already have an account.

I’m having trouble downloading the free thank you gift

This can be a common problem with some browsers. I recommend downloading the free Firefox browser, as this has eliminated most download problems. Download here.

What happens if I fall behind?

You can’t “miss out” or “fall behind” because you get lifetime access to this course and the forum. Every 4 – 6 months there will be a new intake meaning you can go through the course again as often as you like. As new content is added or features improved, you will also benefit.

I haven’t started GAPS yet, is that okay?

Absolutely. My aim with this course is for you to be as well prepared and supported as possible, to do GAPS when you decide. I do encourage you to pick a date, as the course materials can be more useful if there is a goal in mind.

How much time do I need to commit each week?

I would suggest that you need a couple of hours to review the content, complete the worksheets, and participate in the forum. There is also the option to download audio versions. However you don’t have to “keep up” so you could do less than that each week and just take a little longer.

Will I get personalized advice from you?

Yes, but within the boundaries of the course materials – all questions need to be asked during the 10 week period and will be answered within the set hours of the forum. The forum is available to you 24/7 with your fellow participants. I will be actively involved with the Facebook forum from 9 – 11am, EST, Monday & Thursdays for the duration of the course. Those times are subject to change, but all questions are generally answered within 24 hours Monday & Thursday. Please note that I am not a replacement for your personal health care provider, and I only give ideas and support from a broader sense within the boundaries of the course. I encourage participants to also answer each others questions anytime, as this builds a strong supportive community!

How much does the course cost?

The course costs $459, but if you enroll during the early bird period you will get $50 off. I will not be running this course again until at least May 2015, and the price may raise as new materials are added and improved. Special Pre-Sale price of $359 from Dec. 26 – 31.

What happens when I pay and enroll?

You will make your secure payment via the GAPS Class website. You will also be sent a link to sign-up to receive a user name and password for the membership site and a welcome email which will direct you to the forum and to access the first content when it is available.

What happens if I am not satisfied?

Firstly, I will do everything I can to ensure that this doesn’t happen! I want you to be blown away by the value in this e-course!

If you work through the first few modules and participate and still do not feel that you have gained value from this course then I will refund your money in full.

Please note: you will be required to turn in your completed worksheets in order to receive your refund. Why? Because I know that if you commit, do the work and take action and allow the forum to support you that you will be able to successfully do GAPS and gain the knowledge you need.

Refunds within 2 weeks of course start. Refunds need to be requested by February 9, 2015.

Are there any restrictions on who can enroll?

This course is open to men and women however, please note my “voice” is towards women (as they are my primary clients).

This course may not be for you:

  • if you have already done Intro GAPS and Full GAPS for a year or two
  • have read the GAPS book multiple times
  • are pretty knowledgeable in all things GAPS

This course is for positive, passionate mamas with a can-do attitude and a hunger to learn.
